Promoting citizen engagement means getting people to care about the climate crisis and then act on it. In particular, our goal is to ensure that the Beyond Climate Neutral plan for UVic will be embraced by the university community.

- Organize a letter writing campaign to support the creation of a Climate Change Task Force in Oak Bay - Letter Writing Campaigns
- Plan a provincial campaign
- Research public opinion to craft effective messages (add this to the Knowledge Base)
- Research best practices for events that engage the public
- Ensure an alignment of terms and language with the UVic strategic plan
- Possibly: Use 'pot-luck' lecture format to engage people
- Possibly: Organize letter writing campaign for Dan Pollock's transit campaign during The Conference
- Ensure that we emphasize that this plan puts UVic in a leadership role, in terms of both its ecology and research.
