Climate Solutions for the CRD

From Common Energy UVic

Jump to: navigation, search

Climate Solutions for the CRD is one of Common Energy's new projects. The goal of the project is to facilitate a collaborative process to develop a core set of climate solutions for the Capital Regional District. The project is rooted in both the Teaching and Learning and Civic Engagement and Governance sections of the Guide to Move UVic Beyond Climate-Neutral.

The project is focused on backcasting from a climate-neutral 2050 to find solutions for today. There are three major lenses that we are applying to this overal question:

  1. Backcasting - what is a climate-neutral 2050 and what does that mean for our actions today?
  2. Services - how can we develop climate-neutral ways of providing services like housing, transportation, and food?
  3. Networks - who do we need to work together to make these changes?

This project is in early days. If you are interested in learning more and/or participating please email info(at)uvic.commonenergy.org.

[edit] Questions for All-Candidates Debates

One initial part of this project is developing a list of questions for all-candidates debates and organizing people to attend and ask them.

Please add any questions that you think would be good:

  1. Do you support an anti-idling by-law?
