Development Team

The Development Team is is the team responsible for the future and development of the organization. This team was originally created to respond to the emergence of problems that did not fit well into the other teams and the need to create a decision making structure around large-scale issues such as organizational development and fundraising. However, much of it's responsibility for coordinating projects has since been replaced by the Weekly Meetings.

The Development Team is currently working on improving Common Energy's internal organization and the process for bringing new people into the organization and empowering them to contribute. As part of this, we are compiling a document with Information for New Members with basic information about common energy's structure, goals, and opportunities.

[edit] Developing Common Energy's Governance

With this in mind Common Energy continues to develop an organic form, constantly growing and changing its systems to fit the changing needs of the hub.

Our organic organizational systems began to emerge from the following discussions:

• The Network Development Team teleconferences. There has not been one of these teleconferences in over a year as the focus has shifted from the development of Common Energy's network to the development of the goBEYOND project.
• A Governance Retreat was held in early June 2007 to begin formally establishing the Common Energy society. The Retreat Proceedings show the outcomes of the two-day conference.
• The Summer Working Structure page was a place to develop proposals for an interim working structure that was discussed at the April 29th Common Ground III session.

Fundraising is a working page to

1) outline possible grants Common Energy can apply for, and
2) be a planning tool for possible event fundraising ideas.
3) provide research regarding other NGO's fundraising policies
