Several barriers preventing individuals from acting sustainably were gleaned from a survey of the University of Victoria. This survey also found there was a weak or no correlation between most sustainable behaviours as a result of these barriers. This fits with past data that suggest that there is no one factor or set of factors that predict sustainable behaviours and thus not all sustainable behaviours should be related. The implication is that smaller subsets of behaviours need to be analyzed if sustainable behaviours are to be predicted and influenced. This paper discusses of the implication for further research into social models, and self-efficacy along with the application of these concepts to social innovators.
