Planning Projects
From Common Energy UVic
The Planning Projects were projects to develop sections of the Guide.
The Planning Projects used the Seven Question Tool as the process for developing sections of the Guide. The seven questions are designed to foster a clear understanding of the fundamental problems that we are trying to address and the opportunities for co-benefits as we solve them. The Seven Question Tool is also designed to solve those problems by focusing on engaging a diversity of people to develop the best ideas and deep support for their implementation. Finally, the tool provides a template for the finished Planning Projects.
A complete Planning Project will have a strategic goal, objectives for achieving that goal, as well as the actions (for Common Energy) and proposals (for UVic administration) to meet those objectives and achieve the goal. There is a more detailed description of strategic goals, objectives, actions and proposals in the Going Beyond Climate-Neutral Plan page.
The Planning Projects formed a key component of the Going Beyond Climate-Neutral Conference. Each one drove a session on, and the goal was to teach participants what we have learned in creating them, and engage the participants to improve them with us.
Planning Projects Note is a briefing note on the Planning Projects that offers a more detailed explanation.

- September 7th - Complete first draft of the Planning Projects using the Seven Question Tool, focus on developing the strategic goals, objectives, actions and proposals. Research team will review.
- September 21st - Through the first weeks of September engage students, faculty, staff and regional partners with the Planning Projects and deliver a second draft on September 21st.
- September 28th - Practice presentations of the Planning Projects and facilitation for the Going Beyond Climate-Neutral Conference in the Michelle Pujol Room.
