[edit] Sunday Training
Spoken about earlier today by the staff. The schedule was sent out in the weekly email this morning. The final part of the day is open space and the question is ...
[edit] Posters for the planning projects?
What do we want on the posters? The seven question tool? Or do we make that a drafty thing?
Brandy: what information do people need to effectively speak about the planning projects. Jamie: Functional goal - effective communication that is engaging and fun. Helps people to participate. Brandy: take food. What do you most need to know about their composting project? Jamie - how it effects the region? Brandy - how does it effect campus? Operations end? Naomi - the GHG effect.
Do we standardize? Or do we allow each group to come up with their own way of presenting?
What if we set minimum standards? Each includes - the strategic goal, the problem statement - objectives, etc as the absolute minimum.
Naomi: what if we gave a standard of - does your poster convey enough information to get someone up to speed for what they need to know to participate?
Jamie - you want people to come with good information and great ideas, to develop your planning project. So, is what you are giving them in the poster effective in doing that? Will it prepare people in a way that is useful to you?
Naomi: yeah.
Jamie - we should come up with some key design elements and pass them on to coordination.
Jamie - we do want creativity and some basic standard information.
DECISION: Jamie to speak to Mark about exact poster size.
How do we harvest information passively on the Friday night?
Paper on tables?
For next week - the big picture framework stuff. How do we include that in the plan - does it go as a presentation?
DECISION: Wiki page needed off of Research for the 10 questions about climate change presentation. Jamie will do this.
Early in the morning have Sarah Webb and Neil Connelly present in the morning. 30 minutes intro divided into 10 minutes us giving BCN explanation, 20min Sarah and Neil.
DECISION: YEAH.
