Teams

From Common Energy UVic

The Teams are the organizational hubs of Common Energy. Collectively, the teams make Common Ground possible and coordinate the activities of the Working Groups.

• Communication Team
  • Established to conduct outreach for events, promote citizen engagement, and facilitate networking. Let's make friends and influence people!
• Coordination Team
  • Our core logistics, event fundraising, and technical support. In short, these people are responsible for making things actually happen.
• Research Team
  • Established to create the Planning Partnership, train people to facilitate collaboration, and create the Knowledge Base.
• Development Team
  • Responsible for the future and development of the hub. The successful execution of the prime Projects, through coordination with the other teams and Working Groups is also its responsibility. This team was created to respond to the emergence of problems that did not fit well into the other teams and the need to create a decision making structure around large-scale issues such as fundraising and organizational expansion.
• Network Development Team
  • Created at the Governance Retreat in June 2007. This group is the Development Team for Common Energy as a whole, responsible for making decisions around provincial fundraising, membership, the Board of Directors and principles of the organization. Membership is made up of members from CE UVic and UBC.

[edit] Sub-Teams

The teams delegate planning of certain Events and Projects to sub-teams. As long as the sub-teams follow the meetings protocol, they have the authority to make binding decisions.
