UVic Greenhouse Gas Assessment and Analysis
The Office of Campus Planning and Sustainability is currently undertaking a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Assessment and Analysis Project for the Gordon Head Campus.
This project will include the quantification of campus emissions from activities such as energy use, transportation, food and material resources.
Using on-campus expertise, the aim is to develop a comprehensive inventory and model that will assist the University in exploring ways to reduce emissions and keep track of progress. In addition, this project will help frame a future campus sustainability policy and management system.

This project for the university will be conducted by Mike Carl, Mike Optis, and Jeff Wishart – two Masters students and one PhD student respectively, all members of the Integrated Energy Systems Institute at the University of Victoria (IESVic). Dr. Lawrence Pitt, research coordinator for IESVic, will provide supervision and be the liason with the university administration.
