From Common Energy UVic

Jump to: navigation, search

The Weekly Email Style Guide is a style guide for the Common Energy wiki. Please adhere to this guide whenever editing or creating page content. When starting a page, simply copy the preformatted skeleton, as it appears on this page, into the new page and start filling it in.

[edit] Discussion

This style guide is designed to facilitate a consistent weekly email. A consistent format will allow members to find the information they need quickly, without having to search every week.

Drafting of the next week's email should take place on the weekly email discussion page. Emails should be short and to-the-point. The wiki is the appropriate place for elaboration.

[edit] Skeleton

The subject line will always begin with "Weekly Email" followed by something, hopefully entertaining, to distinguish it.

First, include a greeting, followed by a table of contents:
1.Spotlight
2.Projects
3.Meetings
4.Meeting Monitor

Spotlight
For last week:

*What happened last week?

For the upcoming week:

*What is the focus for the week?

Projects
There will be a link to the Projects page with an updated list of the week's tasks.

Meetings
There will be a link to the Meetings page with updated times and agendas.

Meeting Monitor
The meeting monitor is a position established to ensure meetings follow the proper protocol, specifically to ensure members, both prospective and existing, can engage with the organization as easily as possible. The meeting monitor is actively working to ensure protocol is being followed, but more importantly is your ally. If a meeting has not followed the proper protocol, please contact the Meeting Monitor and they will take the appropriate actions to ensure it does not happen again.

The meeting monitor for the week of July 22nd - July 29th is (INSERT NAME). Please do not hesitate to contact (HER/HIM) with any meeting protocol needs.
